England were beaten by Poland in the bronze medal match at the World Deaf Football Championship in Malaysia.

They began the tournament on 23 September with a 2-0 defeat by Turkey, bouncing back to beat Japan 2-1 just two days later.

There was only a couple of days between the other games too, played in temperatures above 30c, as England went down 3-1 to Poland and then 4-0 to the USA.

They met the Americans again in the semi-finals, levelling the match at 1-1 but going in 2-1 down at half time, before the US ran riot with eight second-half goals.

Facing Poland again, they had to settle for fourth place following a 7-0 loss.
