England were 4-0 winners over Japan in a friendly international played at the Pinatar Arena in Murcia, Spain.

Alessia Russo headed against the upright from a Chloe Kelly cross and Beth Mead saw her shot clawed wide of the far post by Ayaka Yamashita.

England went ahead in the 38th minute, when Kelly’s cross was not cleared and Rachel Daly latched onto the loose ball and slotted it inside the keeper’s near post.

The lead was doubled early in the second half with a powerful strike from Kelly, after Mead’s ball went right across the box.

Salmon also laid on a goal for Jess Park, who had only just come off the bench for her debut.
