Saturday 4th March
LA MANGA U-23 TOURNAMENT
Norway 2-2 Japan
England 2-0 USA
England U-23 success over the USA came house before the seniors historic away win over the Americans.
Although the USA created more chances, it was England who found the net twice in the first half.
In the 27th minute, Claudia Walker powerfully headed home a cross from Hannah Blundell and Mel Lawley doubled the lead just before the break after a solo run and neat finish past the diving keeper.
Norway and Japan share four goals
Japan scored first on 20 minutes via an indirect free kick inside the Norwegian box, which flew in off the unfortunate Kristine Leine.
Seconds after the interval, Amalie Eikeland capped a fine move by hammering home the equaliser.
Barely 10 minutes later and Norway were ahead, as Synne Skinnes Hansen found the back of the net.
But Japan levelled in the 74th minute, with Hikaru Naomoto turning well to slam the ball past keeper Josefine Erevik.
