England finished first in their UEFA Women’s U-17 Championship Round 1 qualifying group despite letting a two-goal lead slip against the Netherlands at St George’s Park.

Jessica Anderson broke the deadlock in the first half, adding to her hat-trick against Faroe Islands last Monday and strike versus Czechia on Thursday.

Lois Shooter forced a save before Anderson was involved in another goal, with Maud Koster putting the ball into her own net.

Rochelity Dap halved the deficit just after the hour mark, then levelled for the Dutch in added time.

The Young Lionesses now progress to the next stage of qualifying for next year’s tournament.

Meanwhile, their U-17 World Cup squad is preparing for Thursday’s midnight (BST) group opener with Kenya, which is live on FIFA+.
