England sealed their place at this summer’s UEFA Women’s U17 EURO Finals in Sweden, topping their group after a 3-1 victory over Italy on Saturday lunchtime.

Following wins over group hosts Serbia and then Greece, Natalie Henderson’s side saw off Italy to reach the finals that take place from 5-18 May in Malmo and Lund.

Sabrina Nespolo made a great save to keep out Denny Draper’s header but could not prevent Vera Jones netting via the post.

Eleonora Ferraresi headed Italy back on level terms close to the interval, only for Eva Gray to come off the bench and score within a minute of the restart, when getting on the end of Draper’s low ball across the box.

Three minutes and Jones won the ball in the box, before Draper set up Lola Brown to make it 3-1.

The draw for the U17 EURO finals will be made on Tuesday 26 March.
