England predicted lineup vs Australia: Will Hannah Hampton return after missing defeat to Brazil?

Hannah Hampton. England predicted lineup Australia

England will look to conclude their ‘Homecoming Tour’ with a victory after their 2-1 defeat to Brazil on Saturday, and here SheKicks gives our predicted lineup for their friendly with Australia on Tuesday night.

England team news

Eyes will be on whether Hannah Hampton returns to the starting lineup for England’s clash with Australia.

The Chelsea goalkeeper missed the 2-1 defeat to Brazil after suffering a minor elbow injury during training.

This allowed Manchester City’s Khiara Keating to step in and make her debut at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

There are several Lionesses who will be hoping to make their debut on Tuesday night.

Lucia Kendall, Grace Fisk and Taylor Hinds are among some of the uncapped players in the squad. They were joined by West Ham defender Anouk Denton, who has been promoted to the senior squad from the U23s.

Sarina Wiegman will have some other calls to make on whether she changes up her starting lineup from the one which lost to Brazil.

The likes of Lucy Bronze, Niamh Charles, Aggie Beever-Jones and Michelle Agyemang were all on the bench on Saturday.

SheKicks predicts that Beever-Jones will come in for Beth Mead against Australia.

Will Hannah Hampton make the starting lineup for England against Australia?

Sarina Wiegman has confirmed that Hannah Hampton could be in line to make her return to the starting lineup for England against Australia.

In her pre-match press conference on Monday, she said: “She is progressing really well, has ticked all the boxes so far.

“Today there’s another training session which she has to come through but things look really good. We are still one day to go, and today we have a good session for her today. If things go well, then she will be available tomorrow.”

SheKicks predicts that Hampton will make the starting lineup, making her first appearance since her heroics at Euro 2025.

Who will start in defence for the Lionesses?

With Leah Williamson out on the sidelines, there are stats to show why Maya Le Tissier could be England’s number one-choice centre-back.

Against Brazil, Le Tissier started out at right-back, before moving over to replace Jess Carter in the middle when Lucy Bronze was introduced in the second-half.

Wiegman, during her pre-match press conference, said that they are ‘still building’ Bronze and Niamh Charles, who have both recently returned from injury.

Therefore, it is likely that the Lionesses could see the same back-four consisting of Le Tissier, Carter, Esme Morgan and Alex Greenwood.

Will any England players make their debut?

There are a number of England players who could make their debut against Australia at Pride Park Stadium on Tuesday night.

The most likely is arguably Arsenal full-back Taylor Hinds, due to the lack of full-backs in the England squad.

However, it is more likely she would make her debut off the bench, with Greenwood starting at left-back.

Keating would likely get the nod over Moorhouse and Baggaley if Hampton is not ready.

In defence, Grace Fisk and Anouk Denton will be pushing for their first England caps.

Liverpool centre-back Fisk is the more likely candidate to receive her first cap off the bench, given that she was called up to the England squad.

SheKicks though predicts that Aston Villa midfielder Lucia Kendall will make her debut and come off the bench against Australia.
