England began their group games at the UEFA Women’s U-17 Championship in Sweden with a 3-0 victory over Norway.

Natalie Henderson’s side took a 2-0 lead in the first dozen minutes or so, Erica Parkinson heading home a cross from Lola Brown and Laila Harbert hitting the roof of the net from just outside the box.

Vera Jones went off injured in the first half and Harbert went closest to a third before the break for a fairly dominant England, forcing a smart save from Hanna Krog.

The Young Lionesses made a great start to the second half as well, a good move seeing Parkinson get the ball into the box and Brown net via the upright.

Rebekah Dowsett denied Norway’s Christina Herseth a late consolation, as England saw out a 3-0 victory.

England WU17s next play tournament hosts Sweden at 5.30pm BST on Wednesday 8 May, with the match live on the Red Button, BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app.
