Emily Allen Opts For Oxford United Women

Versatile midfielder, Emily Allen has joined WSL outfit Oxford United from Premier League Cardiff City LFC.

Representing her university side, Cardiff Met, Allen has gained valuable Champions League experience playing in four competitions and scoring a handful of goals.

Allen told oxfordunitedwfc.co.uk: “I really like the look of the setup and what’s going on is really positive. They have really good foundations and they are looking to build a solid team for the future which I think is really important. Having to spoken to Andy [Cook], I am really excited to start working with him. I’ve heard a lot about him and know he is a brilliant coach.”

“Personally, I am hoping to improve and keep developing at a different level. As I team I hope we can push on a gel together as a new squad. At the end of the day, just win as many games as we can and work together over the next couple of years to push for promotion.”

Manager Andy Cook added: “I’m pleased Emily has come in this season, a lot people spoke highly of her and what she can bring to the team. She has the drive and ambition to succeed in the WSL and I’m pleased she has chosen to come to Oxford. I’m looking forward to working with her, she adds quality to our squad and gives us a different dimension to the formations we can use going forward.”
