Ella Toone has revealed that her grandma died on the day of England’s Euro 2025 final triumph in Switzerland.
The Manchester United midfielder started the final against Spain, where the Lionesses emerged victorious on penalties.
It came three years after Toone scored in the final of Euro 2022 against Germany at Wembley Stadium.
A day after that final in 2022, her father Nick was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
He passed away in September 2024, three days before his 60th birthday.
Toone has posted a message on Instagram in which she revealed her grandma died on the morning of the Euro 2025 final.

“You always knew it. Say hello to our angels up there, grandad’s been waiting for you for a while. Love you always, our ‘ famous ‘ Nanna Maz x.”
