A sizeable and vocal crowd turned out at Coach Road in Newton Abbot on a Friday night and saw Buckland take the lead after only 3 minutes, as a parried shot fell loose for Helen Ruffles to squeeze in at the far post.
With 9 minutes played, Devon League Premier Division leaders Bideford were back on level terms, Alicia Martin finding space in the box to curl home the equaliser.
They might have gone in at half-time with the lead but Sarah Dennis’s floated effort went inches wide.
However, their second goal did come just before the hour mark, Beth Ellis scoring after a run into the right-hand side of the area and strike across the keeper into the far corner.
Buckland – beaten 6-0 and 3-0 by Bideford in the league this season – threw everything at their opponents for the remainder of the game but could not break through.
