Northern Division: Rams Rise To Third
Derby’s 5-0 win over Fylde not only saw them leapfrog their visitors but they went third in the Northern Division. Lise Giampalma got two of the goals, Melissa Johnson, Nicole Dale and Lauren Cresswell one each.
Leicester City Women are up to fourth after sharing four goals with Huddersfield, who twice came from behind. Shauna Cossens buried a 4th-minute free-kick, the Terriers levelled and an Alex Madden cross forced an own-goal to restore the lead, only for Town to make it 2-2. Kate Nutter and Katie Mallin were the visitors’ scorers.
Nottingham Forest took a step towards safety with a 2-1 success against Bradford. Andi Bell’s opener was cancelled out by the break but Charlotte Broad came up with a last-minute winner after Bantams’ keeper Charlotte Oates was taken off injured.
Southern Division: Record Crowd For Rookettes
C&K Basildon fought back twice to hold Crystal Palace to a 2-2 draw. Gemma Bryan’s opening goal brought a headed equaliser close to the interval from Angela Addison. Bryan struck again for the Eagles, only for Addison to also complete a double.
Lewes’s record league crowd saw them edge basement side QPR by the only goal, scored via the head of Kelly Newton on 77 minutes.
Midlands Division 1: Four Goals For Foxes And Khalsa
Birmingham & West Midlands went down 4-0 at home to Midlands Division 1 leaders Loughborough Foxes. The spoils were shared by Becky Knight, Charlotte Cooper, Emma Pilling and Eva Rogers.
Second-placed Sporting Khalsa matched that scoreline against Loughborough Students.
TNS climb two place to fifth with a 5-0 goal victory at Leicester City Ladies. Lia Lewis, and Maddie Jones got the first-half goals, Kim Bebbington then scored from 25 yards before Emily Ridge and Charlotte Canlett got one apiece.
Solihull moved to within a point of Rotherham after defeating them 3-2 away. Vicky Grieve’s goal brought a Millers’ reply from the spot by Amy Pollock but Natalie Courtney put the away side back ahead with another spot-kick. Jessica Howard added a late third before a tense finish followed Grieve’s own-goal.
Northern Division 1: Guiseley Go Top
Guiseley reclaimed the Northern Division 1 top spot from Hull on goal-difference with a 2-0 win at home to Chorley. Both goals came in the first 30 minutes, Olivia Thackray scoring via the post and Sarah Danby thumping home the second.
Chester le Street are up to third position following their 2-1 result at Mossley.
Liverpool Feds were 4-0 winners over Leeds, Chantelle Thompson and Carina Mendes scored before the break, Amy Seagraves and Abby Pope getting on the scoresheet midway through the second half.
South East Division 1: Seven Up For Gills
Rosie Kmita and Fliss Gibbons had Gillingham two goals to the good at Enfield before a first-half stoppage-time brace from Charlotte Gurr. Gibbons later got her second and Kallie Balfour came off the bench to also score twice, as the Gills went five points clear at the top of South East Division 1.
Actonians damaged Wimbledon’s promotion hopes by sending them to a 2-0 reverse.
Stevenage’s Rosie Woodhams and Bolu Fisher were both on target as they fought back to lead Ipswich 2-1. But the Tractor Girls not only got back on level terms but hit a 30-yard winner.
Denham and Lowestoft are still the only sides in the division yet to draw, the Middlesex team having sent the Suffolk outfit to a 5-0 loss.
Luton were one up at Norwich through Zara Carroll on half-time but the game was eventually abandoned after a lengthy wait for an ambulance for Canaries captain Kate Parsons, who sustained a nasty knee injury.
South West Division 1: Knapman Treble Helps Argyle Into Second
Molly Clark and Lucie Challen had South West leaders Chichester 2-0 up over Exeter at the interval. Kally Ambler got the third straight after the restart, with one from Charley Wilson-Blakely and a second for Clark.
Plymouth retook second place when hitting ten-player Maidenhead for six. Tash Knapman featured with a hat-trick, while Mollie Taylor, Danni Barr and Becky Atkins contributed singles.
Basingstoke’s Jasmine Meichle scored to earn a point with Larkhall.
Cheltenham scored twice in each half for a 4-0 result at Shanklin, where Ella Hitchcox got a couple, Ria Salleh and Jane Wiltshire one apiece.
