Denmark international defender Katrine Veje has signed for Everton on a two-year contract that runs until the end of June 2024.
A Barclays WSL winner with Arsenal, the 31-year-old who has 140 caps for Denmark is a left-back who can also play wing-back and in midfield.
“I’m so happy to be at Everton,” Veje told evertontv.
“It’s a big club and it feels good to be back in the league. I always had a dream to come back to the league – Everton are such a big club as well – so it’s a dream come true.”
“With Brian [Sorensen] as manager – and knowing some of the Danish and Swedish girls here – it made the decision to sign for Everton even easier.”
Veje began her career in Denmark with Odense BK before successful spells at Malmo and Brondby, sandwiched by a stint in the US with Seattle Reign.
The defender played in France for Montpellier in 2017/18, moving to Arsenal the following season, ahead of a return to Sweden with FC Rosengard in 2020.
Everton manager Sorensen said: “Katrine is a world-class player, which she has shown over the past 10 years playing for some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
“For the national team, she has been one of the most consistent players throughout the past decade.
“I have seen her qualities when she has played against the teams I have managed, and I have watched her with the national team for many years.”
