Dartford lead London & SE League, Worcester City again top in West Mids

Dartford replaced Fulham as leaders in the London & South East League, the ever-changing West Midlands top spot saw Worcester City take over again.

EASTERN – Harpenden top of the North

Premier – Third-placed Haringey Borough were held 3-3 at home by Barking, Needham Market beat Bowers & Pitsea 4-1 to go fourth. Stevenage are four points from danger after thrashing basement side Kings Lynn Town 10-1.

1 North – Harpenden Town hit top spot with a 5-1 win over Wootton Blue Cross, Biggleswade United are fourth following a 2-1 defeat of Newmarket Town,  Thetford Town fifth with a 7-4 goalfest of a victory at Histon.

1 South – Watford Ladies Development went five points clear when defeating Wodson Park 6-1 with Harley Carr netting three times, Stanway Pegasus beat Cheshunt 4-1 as Jade Horne notched a hat-trick.

League Cup 3rd Rd – St Albans City made the quarter-finals with a 1-0 result against Royston Town, Real Bedford beat AFC Dunstable 2-0, Wroxham saw off Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers 5-1 aided by a Hannah Fuller treble

League Plate 2nd Rd – Fakenham Town knocked out Hertford Town 3-2 with Vicky Lubbock’s stoppage-time winner.

EAST MIDLANDS – Boddington brace puts Thrapston in pole position

Premier – Basford United won 4-0 at Long Eaton United to climb to fifth, level on points with the third and fourth-placed sides.

1 Central – Notts County Devs are up to third after overturning a half-time deficit to win 4-3 at Asfordby Amateurs.

1 North – Gainsborough Trinity sank Lincoln United Devs 7-0, Oughtibridge WM overcame Sleaford Town 4-0 with three from Codi Melia, Grimsby Borough are level on points with SJR Worksop after edging them 4-3.

1 South – Thrapston Town won 2-1 at Newport Pagnell Town with a five-minute Millie Boddington brace to take the leadership from Northampton Town Devs, who were held to a goalless draw at Leicester City Ladies.

League Cup 3rd Rd – New Bradwell St Peter made the quarter-finals with a Ciara Smith goal at West Bridgford, Dronfield Town’s 7-2 victory at Beaumont Park featured an Annabel Davies hat-trick, Lincoln United knocked out Anstey Nomads 9-2 and Arnold Eagles had a walkover against Skegness Town.

League Plate 2nd Rd – Kettering Town ran out 11-1 winners over Nuneaton Borough, with four for Abbie Brewin and three from substitute Lucy Hibberd.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Darts hit top spot

Premier – Dartford took back top spot from Fulham with a 2-1 result at Ashford United, Ebbsfleet United climbed to fourth with an 8-2 success at Sutton United, Dorking Wanderers beat Millwall Lionesses 3-1 to leapfrog them into sixth place.

1 North – Sport London E Benfica put eight goals past Camden & Islington United to stay top on goal-difference from Dulwich Hamlet Reserves, who won 2-1 at Hackney. Richmond Park had a good 2-1 result at Whyteleafe, while a crowd of 145 saw Clapton see off Ashmount Leigh 2-1.

1 South – Newhaven won 5-1 at Montpelier Villa where Lucy Collinson hit a hat-trick, Dartford Reserves scored all three goals at Eastbourne United, Bromley beat Hassocks 7-0 with as many different scorers to go third. Hastings United’s Brooke Nicholson-Rogan netted a 90th-minute winner for a 2-1 victory at Steyning Town.

League Trophy 1st Rd – Brentford won 4-1 at Welling United to set up a trip to Sport London E Benfica on 7 January.

NORTH EAST – York RI win local derby at leaders

Premier – Barnsley FC beat basement side Harrogate Town to end 2023 in second position, two points short of Sunderland West End who have a game in hand.

1 North – Thornaby beat second-placed Wallsend BC Reserves 4-2, Consett went third with a 3-0 win over Washington, Bishop Auckland banked a second victory 3-1 against Gateshead.

1 South – York Railway Institute moved within a point of leaders York City Devs with four games in hand after beating them 4-2 away, Millmoor slipped to third after being held 2-2 at home by Handsworth.

NORTH WEST – Mancunian Unity and Wythenshawe extend perfect records

Premier – Cheadle Town Stingers got the only goal at Darwen to step three points clear, Tranmere Rovers having gone down 3-2 at Blackburn CSC. Crewe Alexandra were 1-0 winners over West Didsbury & Chorlton, bottom-of-the-table Blackpool narrowly lost 3-2 at home to Salford City.

1 North – Mancunian Unity narrowly made it ten straight wins 3-2 against Preston North End, Accrington Stanley beat Bolton Wanderers 2-0, Penrith were held 3-3 at home by Fleetwood Town Wrens for whom Ruby Farrell got all three goals. Radcliffe defeated Carlisle United 4-0, Workington Reds’ Hayley Bracken bagged the sole goal at Penwortham Town.

1 South – Wythenshawe hit Hindley for six to record an eleventh win in a row, Chester  beat Mossley Hill Athletic 4-2 to go second on goal-difference. FC St. Helens beat Altrincham 6-1, Poulton Vics just got the better of Litherland REMYCA 2-1.

SOUTHERN – Long Crendon move into promotion place

Premier – Oxford City were ahead at home to leaders Ascot United early on but ended up being beaten 6-2, as the visitors stretched their lead to five points.

1 North – Penn & Tylers Green surrendered the leadership after a 2-0 loss at Milton United, Long Crendon are top on goal-difference having beaten Beaconsfield Town 4-1, Wycombe Wanderers U-23s close behind following a 3-2 victory over Kidlington in which subs Mia Parkin and Ammara Qureshi both scored.

SOUTH WEST – Super subs strike for Bitton and Boco

Premier – Bristol Rovers beat Pucklechurch Sports 4-0 to remain in pole position on goal-difference from Marine Academy Plymouth, who won 2-0 at Liskeard Athletic. Forest Green Rovers are third after a 4-2 defeat of AFC St Austell, Frampton Rangers beat Bishops Lydeard with a goal by Saffron Degg.

1 East – Top team Poole Town beat Frome Town 6-2, Weymouth were 7-2 victors at Shaftesbury.

1 North – Bitton substitute Freya Coke pegged back leaders Weston super Mare for a 1-1 tie, AEK Boco gained ground by beating Bristol Rovers Devs 2-1 as sub Courtney Smith struck. SGS Olveston’s Jess Dobbins got a double in the 3-2 win at Gloucester City, which put them goal-difference behind their hosts. Elsewhere, Downend Flyers defeated Mangotsfield United 2-0.

1 West – Second-placed Helston Athletic scored seven without reply at Middlezoy, Saltash United’s Yasmin Franklin accounted for four of their goals in a 7-1 success at Bideford which put them third.

WEST MIDLANDS – Lye lose leadership after loss at Burton

Premier – Burton Albion were 2-0 winners against Lye Town, who lost first place to Worcester City, 4-0 winners over Coundon Court. Crusaders stay on just a single point after a narrow 3-2 loss at fourth-placed Kidderminster Harriers, while Solihull Sporting won 3-1 at Knowle.

1 North – Walsall FC sit level on points with second-placed AFC Telford United following a 4-2 derby win at Walsall Wood. Leek Town Reserves sank Darlaston Town 7-1 to move into fourth position.

1 South – Worcester City Devs defeated Redditch United 4-2 to rise to fourth spot.

Premier Cup 1st Rd – Coventry Sphinx will host Shrewsbury Town in the quarter-finals, after eliminating Lichfield City five goals to one.
