Birmingham City Head Coach Darren Carter has been awarded Barclays Women’s Championship Manager of the Month trophy for April by the LMA Panel.
Carter’s team ended the Barclays Women’s Championship in sensational form, winning the last seven games including five victories during a busy April month, securing second place and finishing a single point behind champions Bristol City.
On receiving the Manager of the Month trophy Carter said: “It’s a privilege to accept the award on behalf of the players and staff as this is a collective effort that saw us finish the season in a really positive way. To go on a seven-game win streak, and nine unbeaten, is a reward for all of the hard work and effort put in by everyone.”
Chair of the League Managers Association panel Faye White MBE added: “During the final months of the season, Carter’s team emerged as a dominant force in the Women’s Championship, earning a second place finish after applying some pressure on eventual winners Bristol City.
“Despite remaining in the Championship for another season, this end of season form will undoubtedly give them the confidence to build a strong promotion challenge next season, as the league’s competitiveness continues to grow year on year.”
