Dan Mlinar: We Were An Attacking Threat

Millwall Coach, Dan Mlinar, shared his views on Sunday’s win over Yeovil Town, in what was only the Lionesses’ second win in their last ten WSL2 matches.

Millwall Lionesses picked up their first win in five WSL 2 outings at The Den with a convincing 3-1 triumph over Yeovil Town.

A first-half brace from Lily Agg set the Lionesses on the path to victory, while Ciara Sherwood made sure of the points with her first goal at Super League level.

Promising Development team striker, Shannel Peat, made her first appearance for the seniors, coming on as a sub for Sherwood in the 75th minute.

Speaking after the final whistle, Lionesses’ coach Dan Mlinar was delighted with his team’s attacking approach to the game and felt the win was thoroughly deserved.

Dan said, “We were a bit more of an attacking threat, which I like. We were more direct in the wide areas, getting one against one and getting at people.

“Our three goals were really well worked. They’ve all come from relaxing and giving the simple pass, with good movement and combinations.

“We have to find that balance. Playing forward doesn’t always mean playing long. We have to be deliberate, and patient.”

The win kept Millwall 3 points ahead of Oxford United with 2 games to go and put them beyond the reach of basement side London Bees.
