Curzon Ashton and Stevenage go top of Women’s Regional Leagues

Curzon Ashton fought back to lead the North West Regional League, Stevenage went top in the Eastern Premier Division.

EASTERN – Stevenage go top 

Premier – Stevenage took over at the top with a 4-2 defeat of Royston Town but have played three more games than unbeaten Luton Town. Bowers & Pitsea’s 5-3 win against Wroxham included a Whitney Locke double plus goals for substitutes Millie Isherwood and Danielle Style. Harlow Town have sadly withdrawn from the league.

1 North – Yaxley Phoenix are level on points with third-placed Newmarket Town, having beaten them 2-0.

1 South – Barking beat Hutton 2-1 to go seven points clear of them at the top, Laura Bunton bagging a brace. AFC Sudbury Reserves finished 5-3 victors over Cheshunt despite trailing 1-0 at half-time, Jessica Allen getting four second-half goals.

EAST MIDLANDS – Dronfield win top of the table clash 

Premier – Arnold Eagles have two points after a 3-3 draw at second-placed Chesterfield, where their substitute Hannah Daniel scored. Notts County now lead by eight points following a 3-1 defeat of Oughtibridge WM, while  Mansfield Town edged Rotherham United 1-0.

1 Central – Dronfield Town moved level on points with leaders Nottingham Trent University, with a game in hand, after beating them 4-0 away.

1 North – Gainsborough Trinity’s 4-0 result over Lincoln United Development saw them replace Grimsby Town at the top but from three games more.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Ten straight wins for Ashford United

Premier – Leaders Worthing sent third-placed Millwall Lionesses to a 4-1 defeat, Fulham are still goal-difference behind after a 5-0 win at Aylesford, while Ebbsfleet United hit AFC Acorns for six.

1 North – Richmond Park advanced three places to fifth with a 3-1 win over Watford Development, Whyteleafe versus Brentford was abandoned due to the weather with the score 1-1.

1 South – Ashford United have matched leaders Hastings United’s ten straight wins with a 5-0 defeat of Steyning Town. Shantelle Omar struck twice as Eastbourne United beat Montpelier Villa 3-0, Bromley drew 1-1 with Newhaven, Maidstone United and Bexhill United were goalless.

League Cup – Hackney will host Saltdean United in the third round next Sunday, after eliminating Cray Valley 6-1.

NORTH EAST – South Shields up to second 

Premier – South Shields rose to second with a 2-1 win at Hull United. The home team had Sharla Cone dismissed on 24 minutes, Jessica Robinson came off the bench to level but Sophie Greener got a 71st-minute decider.

1 North – Substitute Lucy O’Keefe gave Hartlepool Pools Youth a 2-1 win at Chester le Street United, Thornaby had a similar outcome at West Allotment Celtic with a Sophie Wood winner, there was a four-goal haul for Christine Murray in Gateshead’s seven past Guisborough Town.

1 South – Sheffield Wednesday beat Bradford Park Avenue 5-2 to get off the bottom at their expense.

NORTH WEST –  Curzon Ashton lead after fightback 

Premier – Curzon Ashton fought back from two down at half-time to overcome Mossley Hill Athletic 3-2 and knock FC United of Manchester off pole position, after they were held 2-2 at Crewe Alexandra. Salford City Lionesses caught up with United when winning 4-1 at Tranmere Rovers.

1 North – Third-placed Morecambe held leaders Haslingden 3-3, Penrith are three points better off than Workington Reds when sending them to a 4-0 loss.

1 South – Six goals were shared between third and second as Poulton Vics drew with Runcorn Linnets, putting the latter level on points with leaders Bury. Chester and Alder were 1-1 at the break but trebles by Emma Gray and Molly Wood saw the former run out 8-3 winners.

SOUTHERN – Abingdon Town win 4-3 away

Premier – Abingdon United extended their lead to seven points with five unanswered goals against Bournemouth Sports,  Wycombe Wanderers’ Sally Grimm got three goals but Abingdon Town left with a 4-3 victory.

SOUTH WEST – Torquay maintain 100% home record

Premier – Torquay United in fourth are nine points better off than Bishops Lydeard in fifth, having beaten them 2-1.

1 East – Weston super Mare leapfrogged Middlezoy – whom they defeated 3-0 away – Ellie Burrows with two goals as her side jumped three spots to fourth.

1 North – Tammi Haynes got the only goal as second-placed Oldland Abbotonians won at third in the table St Vallier.

1 West – Sticker stayed top with a narrow 2-1 defeat of winless Bideford, Marine Academy Plymouth and Saltash United both kept up the pace with defeats of Feniton (2-1) and Budleigh Salterton (2-0) respectively.

WEST MIDLANDS – Eight in a row for Sphinx

Premier – Burton Albion’s 5-1 scoreline against Lichfield City pushed the Brewers up three places to fourth.

1 North – Second-placed Walsall FC crashed 4-1 at home to Lichfield City Reserves.

1 South – Coventry Sphinx have won eight in a row after netting half-a-dozen at Sedgley & Gornal United. Rugby Borough got off the mark with a 2-0 basement battle success over Westfields, Rugby Town’s 4-1 beating of Bewdley Town featured a hat-trick for Chloe Debaes.

Premier Cup – Shrewsbury Town made the quarter-finals, as Madison Jones accounted for half their six goals against Coundon Court.
