Crystal Palace have signed Netherlands international winger Ashleigh Weerden from Ajax with whom she won two trophies.
She played nearly 70 times for the Dutch development age-groups, before her senior debut in 2019.
After 60 appearances with FC Twente Women, she departed for Montpellier for whom she played 36 times.
Winning the Eredivisie title and Dutch Cup with Ajax, she missed the latter stage of last season with a knee injury.
Weerden told cpfc.co.uk: “I’m really excited. This will be my first time playing in England and I think it’s one of the best, or maybe the best, leagues in the world, so I am excited that I can be part of the club.
“I’m really excited for this project and I think I can help the team to build on their ambition. I’m really glad I can be a part of this team.”
Head of Women’s Football Grace Williams added: “Ashleigh is the kind of player Crystal Palace fans associate with the club – energetic, determined, and exciting to watch – and we are delighted she has joined the club ahead of our first-ever WSL campaign.”
