Crusaders Strikers U-19s beat Cliftonville Corinthians 6-1 to effectively become NIFL Women’s Premiership Academy League champions.
The scoreline was just enough to take Crusaders above Linfield Swifts by virtue of goals scored, 58 to 57, with the title rivals level on points and goal-difference.
The Strikers are due to again host Cliftonville at Seaview in the very last fixture of the season on Friday evening (8pm), needing only to avoid an unlikely defeat to the fifth-placed team in a six-strong division in order to finish first.
