Crewe Development Cheshire Champions

Dave Whittingham’s side has only been beaten once this season, by Wallasey Wanderers, whom they face in the League Cup semi-final this weekend.

Their penultimate league game on 12th March saw them fightback from 2-0 down to tie 2-2 at Runcorn Linnets.

Stand-in keeper Loren Cooper could do nothing with the two first half goals scored by Rebecca Barker and Tempany Carlson but she stopped the hosts from adding to their lead.

The pacey Maisy Millerchip broke through to slot the ball home and get Alex back in the match.

In the 90th minute, Gemma Brough broke away and scored the equaliser to share the spoils.

Crewe now bid for a cup final place at Wallasey Wanderers on 19th March, when Witton Albion welcome Runcorn for the other tie.
