Crawley Cranking Up Promotion Bid

They say that a new partnership with Cottesmore Hotel, Golf & Country Club will give a major boost to the club’s ambition of reaching the Premier League.

The agreement will allow Wasps’ first-team players access to gym facilities, where they will be able to run strength and conditioning sessions, in addition to the weekly training night.

Captain Hannah Duncan believes such access could make all the difference.

“It’s great to have the opportunity to take our training and fitness up to the next level with Cottesmore,” she told crawleywasps.com.

“Last season, I felt we were one of the fittest teams in the league in terms of stamina but maybe lacked a bit of physicality at times.

“Hopefully this will prove to be the extra ingredient we need to achieve promotion.”

New Coach Added

Meanwhile, Mike Gardner, a former youth development coach for Crystal Palace, has joined as first-team coach.

“I am excited to get started with Crawley Wasps’ ladies first team and help get them where they want to be,” Gardner said.
