Coventry United paid tribute to her in a statement:
Lynchy has dedicated her life to this club and has always conducted herself as a leader and role model.
After joining the club as an 8 year old girl, she is leaving as a 31 year old woman that has battled her way to the top and stayed there. Centre-forwards around the country will breathe a sigh of relief knowing that they won’t have to battle it out with Lynchy.
Not only is Lynchy fearless, ruthless and an exceptional talent, she is an athlete. She is a living image of what a modern day female footballer should look like.
Since taking on the armband as a teen, she has led with absolute passion, never asking more from the players than what she is prepared to give herself. She has been a teacher of the game to not only the younger players but everyone she has encountered.
The void left by Lynchy is almost too big to comprehend, the club have been extremely lucky to have Lynchy as its figurehead and we thank her for every ounce of blood, sweat and tears she has dedicated.
We would like to wish Lynchy a happy retirement. We have lost a true legend on the pitch but gained a fan for life.
