Courtney Brosnan named FAI Women’s Player of the Year

The FAI International Awards for 2022-23 saw goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan named Women’s International Player of the Year.

Forward Amber Barrett claimed the International Goal of the Year for her finish against Scotland, that helped Vera Pauw’s team qualify for FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.

Rebekah Grant won the Football For All International Player of the Year, after playing a key role in the Deaf Women’s Futsal Team qualifying for this year’s World Cup.

The Special Merit Award went to Niamh O’Donoghue, the first woman elected to the FAI Council and also the FAI Board.

Inducted into the FAI Hall of Fame was ex-Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Sue Hayden.

Heather Payne won the Young International Player of the Year award, Scarlett Herron the U-19 category, Aoife Kelly the U-17 honour, Freya Healy the U-16’s and Abigail Bradshaw the U-15 Schoolgirls International.
