Chelsea made it back-to-back wins in the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup with a 2-0 result at home to Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday.
Spurs nearly took an early lead in the group stage game but Siri Worm’s free-kick came back off the post, while at the other end Millie Bright’s drive was saved by Becky Spencer.
Rosella Ayane tried to catch Ann-Katrin Berger off her line in the second half but it was the hosts who made the breakthrough with 20 minutes remaining, Erin Cuthbert’s 25-yard rocket doing the trick.

Berger was forced into denying Ayane with an acrobatic save, before the Blues sealed the points six minutes from the end, Melanie Leupolz converting from the spot after a Sophie Ingle strike was handled in the box.
Group games continue today (Wednesday 4 November), including Liverpool’s afternoon kick-off with Manchester City live on LFCTV.
