City Sign USA Youth Striker Savannah Jordan

The Scottish champions say the high-scoring 21 year-old forward joins after an incredibly successful four years at the University of Florida, where she scored 81 goals and 27 assists to become the Gators’ second highest goalscorer of all time. The only player to score more, is former USA and world star Abby Wambach.

Jordan was only in the second stage of the recent NWSL college draft, as teams were aware she was intending to play in Europe this year. She was picked by Portland Thorns but it appears unlikely her debut for them will come before 2018.

Jordan was a member of various US Youth National Teams, including 2014 FIFA U-20 World Cup, 2014 CONCACAF World Cup qualifying and 2015 and 2014 U-23 Four Nation’s Tournament, as well as the NSCAA All-American pick for her four straight years at college.

Commenting on her arrival, City Head Coach Scott Booth told glasgowcityfc.co.uk:

“Savannah has been a stand out in America’s college football. Her success has meant that numerous clubs at home and abroad have been knocking at her door. We are delighted she chose to join us at Glasgow City and it shows how highly rated this club is in the women’s game. She is an attacking player with fantastic natural ability who is comfortable with both feet, strong and an eye for goal. I’m looking forward to working with her.”
