Cheshire Women’s League Teams Up Over 50%

The Cheshire League has received a big boost in numbers for the 2017-18 season, up from 14 teams to 22 and now incorporating a third division.

While champions Crewe Alexandra Development went up to the North West League, Stockport County Development were promoted into Division 1.

A number of sides stepped up from the U-18 section, including Macclesfield Town who go straight into Division 2.

Manor Club, Sandbach United and Upton begin their open-age competition in Division 3, other newcomers are Malpas. Manchester Rovers and Wallasey Athletic, while Altrincham Hale drop down from the second.

CHESHIRE LEAGUE 2017-18 CONSTITUTION:

DIVISION 1 – Chester FC, Egerton, Glossop North End, Runcorn Linnets, Stockport County Development, West Kirby, Witton Albion, Wythenshawe Amateurs

DIVISION 2 – AFC Stockport, Altrincham Development, Chester City, Earlestown Athletic, Macclesfield Town, Sale United, Stockport County HNR

DIVISION 3 – Altrincham Hale, Malpas, Manchester Rovers, Manor Club, Sandbach United, Upton, Wallasey Athletic
