Chelsea Women have signed 27-year-old Serbian midfielder Jelena Cankovic on a three-year deal from Rosengard.
She has 53 caps and five goals for her country, won top-flight domestic titles in her first six seasons during spells with Spartak Subotica, Barcelona and Ferencvaros.
Moving to Rosengard, she also was twice a Damallsvenskan title winner, helping the team to the quarter-finals of the Champions League in 2021.
Cankovic told chelseafc.com: ‘I am really excited to join Chelsea and it feels great to be able to play in a team with such a winning culture and great players.’
Manager Emma Hayes said: ‘Jelena is a top talent who has been developing really, really well in Sweden. We’ve been monitoring her for some time and we’re absolutely delighted she chose us.’
