Charlton Beat Spurs For Second Time In 3 Days

Chances were few and far between in the first half at Wingate & Finchley FC but Rosey Sullivan went close for Charlton from distance and the Addicks felt they should have had a penalty when Kit Graham went down in the box, while just before the break, Bianca Baptiste was inches away from turning in a Josie Green cross for Spurs.

But the second half was only 3 minutes old when Tottenham took the lead, Baptiste crossing for Wendy Martin to powerfully head home.

There was nearly an equaliser 3 minutes further on but Gemma Shepherd’s cut-back into the six-yard box was blazed over the bar by Graham.

The scores were levelled in the 58th minutes as a free-kick into the box wasn’t cleared and Charley Clifford pounced to finish.

The winner came with 13 minutes left, Shepherd releasing Bergin to set up Graham to slam the ball home.

Spurs still threatened though with a Renee Hector free-kick fired just over and with a minute to go, Baptiste struck the ball across the face of goal but ahead of both Kelley Blanchflower and Martin on the stretch.
