Charlton Athletic Women have signed Wales international midfielder Georgia Evans, who joins from Yeovil Town.

She spent two years with the Glovers and the 23-year-old was a regular in the their two campaigns in the top flight.

Evans previously spent six years with Bristol City, making 20 times in first team appearances and winning promotion from WSL2 in 2016.

Speaking to the Addicks, Evans said: “As soon as I came to the club and saw the facilities I made the decision and can’t wait to get started.

“It’s exciting to join the club. I came down last week, met Riteesh [Mishra] and I’ve been been training with the girls so I’m really excited for the season”

Manager Riteesh Mishra believes Evans will strengthen the squad.

“I think it’s a big message for someone like us as a club to be getting a player of Georgia’s calibre. It should give us confidence as a club that someone like her has decided to join us.”

“I know she would have had other options and opportunities but she will take us to another level with how we play and I’m delighted to have signed her.”
