Celtic Capture Crilly

The 25-year-old attacker will add a goalscoring threat to the Celtic squad, and she was thrilled to put pen to paper at Celtic Park.

Speaking to the official Celtic website, Sarah, who has been capped four times by Scotland, said: “I’m really excited and I can’t wait to start. I’m friendly with most of the Celtic squad and am looking forward to teaming up with players such as Megan Cunningham, Heather Richards and Cara McBrearty.”

Sarah, who works as a Competitions & Events Officer with Scottish Hockey, began playing football at the age of 8 with Milton Rovers, a boys’ team based in Carluke.

“I moved on to Hamilton Academical when I was 15, and was a regular member of their Premier League side from the age of 17,” she explained. “After my time with Accies, I was looking for new challenges and I accepted the invitation to join Glasgow City in 2013.”

During her time there, she established herself as a first-team regular, featuring as recently as last month in the Scottish Cup final against Hibernian. And now she’s looking forward to her new football challenge in the green and white Hoops.

First-team manager David Haley welcomed Sarah to the club, saying: “Sarah is a player I’ve admired for a long time, and we’re all really pleased that she has committed herself to Celtic for the new season.

“With her football ability and pace she will add to our attacking options. I’m sure she’ll quickly adjust to life as a Celtic player and I hope she enjoys playing for the Hoops.

“We are hopeful of adding further to the squad, and it is satisfying that we are able to attract players of Sarah’s ability.”
