There was just one Orchard Welsh Premier Women’s League match yesterday and it was a top of the table clash, as Cardiff Met scored twice late on to beat reigning champions Swansea City on their own turf.
The deadlock was broken by the hosts at Llandarcy Academy of Sport, as Kelly Newcombe stabbed home from close range in the 70th minute.
It was down to the last 7 minutes when Steph Turner equalised for league leaders Cardiff Met.
The Archers were then awarded a penalty which substitute Jasmine Simpson converted, to give Cardiff Met maximum points and push them six clear of the Swans at the top.
Next Sunday (3rd Deccember) sees attention turn to the Welsh Premier League Cup quarter-finals:
Abergavenny v Cardiff City FC
Caldicot Town v Cardiff Met
Port Talbot Town v Rhyl
Swansea City v Cyncoed
