Northern Division – Rovers look unstoppable
Blackburn’s 3-0 defeat of Newcastle saw Rovers maintain a nine-point advantage at the top of the Northern Division. But they had to wait 65 minutes to break down a stubborn Magpies side, with Kelsey Prason getting her first goal for the club. Saffron Jordan then bagged a brace, scoring off a Natasha Fenton cross and then benefiting from Alex Taylor’s smart delivery with a tap in.
Middlesbrough did all they could to keep up the chase on Rovers by beating third-placed Bradford 2-1. Boro were ahead early on when a cross forced an own-goal but the Bantams levelled on 20 minutes through Loz Elford. The winner came just after the hour mark, with Bianca Owens following up a block on the line to score off the post.
Fylde went fifth on goal-difference following their 2-2 draw at Huddersfield. Chloe Adams fired Fylde in front from 25 yards but Kate Mallin equalised by the break from Emily Heckler’s pass. Heckler charged down an attempted clearance soon after the interval to make it 2-1 but 4 minutes into added time Jenna Carroll levelled.
Southern Division – Big reaction from Cardiff after first defeat
Cardiff stormed back to the top of the Southern Division by sweeping Swindon away 8-0. City’s win featured five first-half goals and a hat-trick for Cori Williams.
Lewes edged themselves up to sixth with a 2-0 victory at basement side QPR. Danielle Lane headed in a cross from Baldock on 53 minutes. Kellie Larkin sealed the points from a free kick won by Carter.
Midlands Division 1 – Khalsa frustrated
Sporting Khalsa missed the chance to move second in the Midlands when held 1-1 by tenth in the table Solihull.
Birmingham & West Midlands are within a point of Khalsa having won 5-3 at next to bottom Leicester Ladies. A Justine Buckmire brace was added to by Maimee Morris, Emily Painter and Charlie Fisher.

Northern Division 1 – Tigers And Vixens hunting down Chorley
Hull’s 4-2 success over Northern Division 1 leaders Chorley but them only a point short with two games in hand. Ellie Harding and Katie Thompson put the Tigers 2-0 up and even though Chorley wiped that lead out, debutant Ellie Wilkinson came off the bench to net with her first touch and then set up Rebecca Beech to score.
Guiseley are also on the top team’s tails but from as many as five games fewer after a 5-2 result at Morecambe was achieved from being 2-0 down. Becky Whittingham and Emma Kay’s goals for the hosts were wiped out by Olivia Thackray forcing an own-goal before scoring herself. Debbie Hastings then got a debut goal, Chantelle O’Hara struck from distance and Emily Scott rounded off the scoring.
Liverpool Feds could have gone up two to fourth but had to settle for a 2-2 tie at Blackpool Wren Rovers. Amy Seagraves put Feds ahead on 30 minutes but Blackpool swiftly turned the game around with two goals. Chantelle Thompson rescued a point for the visitors with a second-half equaliser.
Brighouse are out of the relegation zone at Mossley Hill’s expense after defeating them 4-0. The spoils were shared by Lauren Doyle. Demi Pringle, Charlotte Proud and Jodie Redgrave.
South East Division 1 – Gills go goal crazy again
Gillingham nearly made it double-figures for a second successive game, running in nine at Norwich. While the Canaries stay bottom, the Gills go second with games in hand on leaders MK Dons.
South West Division 1 – Plymouth keep pressure on Chichester
Plymouth saw off Keynsham 5-2 to cut Chichester’s South West leadership to seven points, with Argyle having two games to catch up on City. Danni Barr and Tori Marks both scored twice, Tash Knapman getting the other for the Pilgrims, while Katie Cook and Nadine Grogan were on target for Town.
Larkhall leapfrogged Brislington into fifth spot with the best of seven goals. Zoe Gunter, Amy Jeffries and Kim Maggs efforts for the home team proved not to be enough.
Basingstoke recorded a third win of the season, 2-0 at Shanklin, who are still in search of their first victory.
