Capital Cup Joy For Charlton And UCL

University College London retained the Capital Junior Cup but they were pushed all the way by Ashford Town (Middx), sharing six goals in normal time, finishing 4-4 after extra-time, before winning 4-3 in the shoot-out.

Player of the Match, Ashford’s Ashley Cheatley scored 4 minutes in but UCL turned the game in their favour before Cheatley made it 2-2 by the break.

Cheatley’s hat-trick goal had Ashford back in front but UCL equalised to force the extra half-four.

Once more Cheatley found the net but only for the students to take the game to penalties and come out on top 4-3.

Charlton and AFC WImbledon Development were goalless until the second half when Kylie Manktelow headed the Addicks in front.

The final was not settled until the dying moments though, when Manktelow scored again and then Darcy Wells struck in the same minute.

The Dons’ keeper, Emma Marlow, was voted Player of the Match.
