Cambridge United edged rivals Cambridge City 2-1 in the Cambridgeshire FA Women’s Cup Final at the Abbey Stadium.

FAWNL side United opened the scoring around the half-hour mark, with Amy Howlett firing home after a free kick was laid off for her to strike.

City conceded a penalty in the first attack of the second half and Becky Shephard smashed it into the bottom corner to double the lead.

The Eastern League leaders did manage to pull one back through Megan Tonks but with very little time left with which to find an equaliser.
