Caldicot made it back-to-back promotions by clinching the Welsh League title in their last game of the campaign.
Needing a point at third-placed Penybont, they drew 3-3 and moved out of reach of second in the table Barry Town United.
A five-goal first half saw Caldicot 3-2 up at the break, with Alana Murphy giving Town a great start 3 minutes in and scoring again on 22 minutes. Ashleigh Harris got the third after 40 minutes but Penybont equalised after the break to earn a draw.
Caldicot can now look forward to a Welsh Premier League debut next season, although they first must return to Penybont’s Bryntirion Park on 30th April to meet Dinas Powys in the South Wales FA Cup Final.
Meanwhile, in Sunday’s South Wales League cup ties, Willows reached the semi-finals of the Alun Evans Cup with a 2-0 win at Newcastle Emlyn Reserves and they now host Cardiff City FC Development next weekend. The Plate finalists were confirmed after Pontypridd Town won 2-0 at Aberdare Town and Barry were beaten 3-1 at home by Cwmbran Celtic.
