Bristol City Go Top Of WSL 2

Thursday April 28th
FA WSL 2
Bristol City 2-0 Aston Villa (Att: 465)

A brace by Millie Farrow (pictured) saw Bristol City beat Aston Villa to go top of WSL 2 on Thurdsay evening.

Bristol opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark when Elisha N’Dow’s attempted clearance cannoned off Farrow and past Jess Myers in the Villa goal.

Katie Wilkinson saw her solo effort saved by Caitlin Leach in the 45th minute after a long ball over the top had caught out the Vixens’ defence, before Beth Merrick saw her corner hit the crossbar.

Farrow scored her second goal of the game just 2 minutes into the second half – converting the spot-kick that she had won after dribbling into the box.

Rosella Ayane missed a good opportunity to further extend the lead when she blasted over from just outside the six-yard box.

The visitors were denied a consolation as Leach made fine stops from Sarah Mayling and Maddy Cusack late on.
