Brighton & Hove Albion have signed Tanzanian international striker Aisha Masaka from Swedish top-flight club BK Hacken.

The 20-year-old has nine goals from 15 appearances for her country, whom she helped qualify for the Women’s African Cup of Nations.

She spent two seasons at Hacken, during which they finished second in the Swedish League and reached the Champions League quarter-finals

Zoe Johnson, managing director of women’s and girls’ football, told brightonandhovealbion.com: “We’re really excited to welcome Aisha to Brighton.

“She’s competed at a high and testing level in Sweden and represented Hacken in the Champions League.

“She’s a physical striker who is dominant on the ball and a natural goalscorer. We’re looking forward to welcoming her to Albion ahead of the new season.”
