Brighton women in talks for new purpose-built stadium with announcement expected soon

Brighton women could be getting a new home in the coming years with talks progressing for a purpose-built stadium just for the women’s team.

The Seagulls are reportedly preparing to announce a monumental move to a new ground in the coming days.

Brighton women moving to greener pastures

Exciting times could be just around the corner for Brighton’s women team who could be part of a groundbreaking deal over the next two years.

Brighton CEO Paul Barber has previously stated that the club hopes to have a new stadium for the women’s team as soon as 2026/27.

Barber teased the big reveal more this week with the new WSL season just on the horizon.

“We are very close to making an announcement on the new women’s stadium. Look out for that over the next week or so.” Barber said.

“We are very excited about the plans for that because we believe that it’ll be the first purpose-built women’s stadium in the whole of Europe, if not the world. That will be very special.”

Brighton would be the first team in England to have a purpose-built stadium for their women’s side.

Arsenal previously announced that their women’s team would play at the Emirates Stadium for every league game this year.

Everton also found a new home for their women with Goodison Park saved from being demolished this summer.

Currently Brighton play their games at Broadfield Stadium which is Crawley Town’s ground – a whole 21 miles away from Brighton.

Even if a new stadium is announced for the Seagulls, Brighton have to contend in the 2025/26 WSL season first.

Brighton have made some eye-catching signings after their best season in the top flight to date.

Dario Vidosic has added Manuele Vanegas Catano, Moeka Minami, Chiamaka Nnadozie to his team. The exciting Michelle Agyemang has also been linked back to the club that she spent last season on loan with.

The Seagulls finished fifth in the league last year – their best result since earning promotion in 2018.
