Bournemouth Sports and Lincoln United promoted to FA WNL

Bournemouth Sports and Lincoln United have sealed promotion to the FA Women’s National League from the Southern and East Midlands Regional Premier Division respectively.

EASTERN – Six-goal Saints looking safe

Premier – Real Bedford remain on course for the title when beating Bowers & Pitsea 4-0, second-placed Haringey Borough were held 4-4 at home by Stevenage whose Grace Brooks scored after 95 minutes. Royston Town became only the second side to defeat Luton Town with a 2-0 result. St Albans City had six different scorers in a 6-0 win at Kings Lynn Town that moved them seven points clear of danger, Wroxham defeated relegation-threatened AFC Dunstable 3-2.

1 North – Harpenden Town missed a chance to return to top spot when going down 4-2 at Mulbarton Wanderers, Stevenage Development won 2-1 at Fakenham Town, Wootton Blue Cross versus Thetford Town was abandoned after a serious injury to the visitors’ goalkeeper.

1 South – Watford Ladies Development beat Billericay Town Development 3-0 with Fatima Husein twice on target, Lawford went third with a 4-1 win at Wormley Rovers.

EAST MIDLANDS – Lincoln United promoted to National League

Premier –  Lincoln United hit second-placed Chesterfield Ladies for six to secure the title with a 15th straight win and three games to spare. Six Chesterfield Ladies’ players were on the scoresheet in a 6-1 midweek win at Long Eaton United. Rotherham United substitute Alesha Gale scored as they went third with a 2-1 win at Grimsby Town, Mansfield Town drew 1-1 with Dunton & Broughton United. Fixtures for Weds 17 Apr (7.45pm) – Basford United v Chesterfield LFC (Mill Street Rec), Dunton v Anstey (Dunton & Broughton Utd FC).

1 Central –  Hannah Green was the matchwinner for title-chasing Asfordby Amateurs in a 2-1 score over West Bridgford, Arnold Eagles’ hopes were dented with a goalless draw at Sandiacre Town, while Loughborough Foxes Vixens and Beaumont Park shared six goals. Beaumont Park host Notts County Devs on Wednesday.

1 North – SJR Worksop closed in on leaders Gainsborough Trinity with a 1-0 win at fellow title-chasers Oughtibridge WM, Dronfield Town’s Ruby Burns got the only goal at Sleaford Town in their own promotion bid. Retford edged Skegness Town 2-1, Grimsby Borough took the points 2-1 at Skegness Town in midweek, before losing out 4-3 to visiting Lincoln United Development for whom April Hallam and Tash Kenny, got two each.

1 South – Thrapston Town’s Amelia Boddington scored twice as the leaders finished their fixtures with a 2-2 tie against Newport Pagnell Town. Kettering Town went level on points with them when defeating Northampton Town Devs 3-1,  Abbie Brewin bagging a brace but Emma Robinson was dismissed. Stamford AFC are best placed and thrashed Nuneaton Borough 18-1, Cardea’s first win came in style, 5-0 over Leicester City Ladies. Cardea host Stamford on Wednesday, 8pm at Nene Valley Community Centre.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Over 1,100 watch title-favourites 

Premier – Dulwich Hamlet took a step nearer the title with a 3-0 victory over Enfield Town, watched by a crowd of 1,142 who saluted centurion and captain Britt Taylor in her last home game for the club. Ebbsfleet United hit Aylesford 6-1,  Saltdean United sank Ashford United 4-0 and there was a 4-1 result for Dorking Wanderers over Crawley AFC. Weds 17 April sees Dartford entertain Ebbsfleet United at Princes Park Stadium (7.45pm), with the Darts effectively needing a win to keep alive their hopes of becoming champions.

1 North – Sport London E Benfica put ten past Hackney and can take the title with victory in their final game, after Brentford had to settle for a 2-2 draw at Clapton CFC despite Chloe Logie’s double. Denham United overcame Camden & Islington United 8-1 aided by a Beckie Currivan treble, Dulwich Hamlet Reserves won 3-0 against Whyteleafe. Brentford play Richmond Park at Wheatsheaf Park on Wednesday.

1 South – Welling United came from behind late on to beat Bognor Regis Town 2-1 with goals by Amy Panayi and Hannah Baker, Hastings United were 2-0 winners at Eastbourne United, Dartford Reserves saw off Herne Bay 3-1. Welling host Bromley at Holmesdale FC on Thursday, kick-off 8pm.

NORTH EAST – Ossett United reach Cup semis after extra time

Premier –  Alnwick Town’s Chloe Young scored half their ten goals against Hartlepool United, South Shields fought back to beat Hull United 4-1 and move up two places to third. Wednesday 7pm kick-offs are Alnwick v Wallsend BC and Redcar Town v Hartlepool United.

1 North – Second-placed Ponteland United sent Bishop Auckland home beaten 7-1, Norton & Stockton Ancients Reserves were victorious 4-2 against Consett, Thornaby beat Washington 4-1. Wallsend BC Reserves welcome leaders Sunderland U-23s for a 7pm start on Wednesday.

1 South – Altofts won 4-1 away to Chesterfield FC Women, it finished two apiece between York Railway Institute and Handsworth. On Wednesday, Lower Hopton take on Altofts.

League Cup Quarter-Finals – Ossett United subs Eleanor Betteridge and Emily Burton both scored in a 5-2 extra-time win at higher-division Wakefield AFC. Barnsley FC beat Bradford City by the only goal, Sunderland West End edged out Spennymoor Town 3-2 and Sunderland U-23s stormed through 9-0 at Wallsend BC.

NORTH WEST – Wythenshawe on verge of title

Premier – Blackburn CSC’s Charlie Chadwick got two goals in the 3-1 win at Fleetwood Town Wrens that secured them second place. Tranmere Rovers also finished their fixtures and could hold third spot after winning the double-header with Blackpool 3-1 and 2-0. Crewe Alexandra beat Bury 2-0, West Didsbury & Chorlton drew 0-0 with Darwen, who go to Fleetwood’s Poolfoot Farm ground for a 7pm start on Thursday.

1 North – Midweek matches saw Morecambe and Radcliffe draw 4-4 and Haslingden beat Penwortham 5-0, before their double-header 0-0 and 1-1 draws on Sunday watched by 200 at Workington Reds. Radcliffe’s Sophie Coates got the deciding goal for a 2-1 win at Accrington Stanley, Penrith won with the same scoreline at Morecambe, while Bolton Wanderers netted a dozen against Penwortham Town. Weds 17 April sees Penwortham play Accrington at Vernons Sports Club (6.30pm) and Radcliffe meet Bolton at Stainton Park (7.30pm).

1 South – On Wednesday, Mossley Hill Athletic edged a 6-5 goalfest with Hindley helped by Olivia Ellinson’s double, Wythenshawe beat FC St. Helens 2-1 with substitute Olivia Dixon scoring. Mossley Hill Athletic put eight past Altrincham on Sunday, Faye Stanhope notching a hat-trick, Poulton Vics beat St. Helens 3-0 and Wythenshawe were champions elect after a 4-2 defeat of Chester. Fixtures for Weds 17 April (6.30pm) – Ellesmere Port v Chester (Cheshire County Sports Club), St Helens v Runcorn (Windleshaw Sports), Northwich v Wythenshawe (Park Stadium), Poulton Vics v Mossley Hill.

SOUTHERN – Bournemouth Sports win league

Premier –  Bournemouth Sports were confirmed as champions ahead of Ascot United following a 1-1 draw at Woodley United. Warminster Town’s Madeleine Brown got the one goal to beat Oxford City, who had subs Billie Bough-French and Emily Harris sent off. Winchester City Flyers’ Libby Wilkinson bagged a brace in a 4-2 win at Wycombe Wanderers.

1 North –  Milton United’s 4-2 victory at Chesham United Development helped their push for second spot. Abingdon United Development beat Eversley & California 3-1 as Mimi Hodges got a couple, Penn & Tylers Green were held 1-1 by Beaconsfield Town.

1 South – AFC Portchester’s 3-1 win at Fleet Town put them on the verge of clinching top spot.

SOUTH WEST – AEK Boco lead after two wins in three days

Premier –  Liskeard Athletic edged the all-Cornish clash with AFC St Austell 1-0, Jasmine Allen getting the goal.

1 East – Stockwood Wanderers were 4-0 winners at Frome Town, likewise Shaftesbury at Ridgeway.

1 North –  AEK Boco won 4-1 at Mangotsfield United on Thursday and went top as Robyn McMullin got the only goal at Downend Flyers. Bristol Rovers Devs’ Gift Ihejieto got three of their four goals at Paulton Rovers, Mangotsfield edged SGS Olveston United 2-1 and St Vallier beat Bitton 6-2.

1 West – Ilminster Town lead the table again after a 6-1 result over Sticker, in which Jodi Cornwall netted four times. Saltash United kept up the chase with a 10-1 beating of Bideford, three goals each from Nicola Champion and Summer Barrett.

Premier Division Cup Semi-Final – Bristol Rovers scored four without reply at Forest Green Rovers, to set up a final clash with Marine Academy Plymouth, details of which are yet to be confirmed.

Divisional Cup Semi-Final – Poole Town will play Saltash United in next Sunday’s semi-finals, Emma King scoring twice in their 3-0 win at Helston Athletic.

WEST MIDLANDS – Lye maintain pressure on leaders

Premier –  Lye Town’s Natasha Baptiste scored three in a 4-0 win at Kidderminster Harriers that put them within four points of leaders Worcester City, with three games to go each. Coventry Sphinx all but ended Shrewsbury Town’s slim hopes with an Amanda Whalley double in a 2-1 win. Burton Albion beat Crusaders 2-0 and Coundon Court’s 8-1 scoreline against Lichfield City featured a four-goal haul from Jessica Lundie. Kidderminster host Shifnal Town tonight (Tuesday) at Aggborough Stadium, 7.30pm.

1 North –  AFC Telford United won 5-0 at Newcastle Town to stay top by one point from Port Vale, who have two games in hand and beat Coventrians 3-0. Walsall Wood were 6-1 winners over Tamworth with a couple for Rosie Hargreaves, Walsall FC Women returned from Darlaston Town 13-1 victors, Lichfield City Reserves’ Amy Rollason got the decider in a 2-1 win away to their counterparts at Leek Town.

1 South – Molly Hicks scored four for leaders Alvechurch as they beat Leamington Lions 5-0, Redditch Borough also remained unbeaten with a 5-2 defeat of Sedgley & Gornal United, who are now relegated. Hereford Pegasus overcame Long Itchington 4-1 to leapfrog them into third place, Droitwich Spa’s Ella Field gave them a 1-0 victory at Redditch United.
