Born Kicking – Hayley Ladd

‘Ladd’ is a Welsh international who plays for Coventry City in the Premier League and Loughborough Students in their midweek BUSA competitions.

Hayley Elizabeth Ladd, 20

2. What do your team mates call you on the footie field?
Ladd

3. Who do you play for and which team do you support?
Play for Loughborough Students (BUSA) and Coventry City. I support Arsenal

4. Are you left or right footed?
Right

5. What is your fave position and why?
Probably centre midfield because you see a lot of the action and get to attack and defend just as much

6. If you could meet a player (male or female) who would it be?
Aaron Ramsey

7. If you could play on the same team as anyone who would it be?
Sophie Ingle with whom I play for Wales – she always wins tackles and never loses the ball

8.. What colour shirt would you most like to play in?
Red (for Arsenal and Wales)

9. Can you describe yourself as a footballer, in three to five words?
Probably ‘Loves A Tackle’

10. What is the funniest thing that ever happened to you in football?
Falling over, which is unfortunately quite frequent. Actually I did get smacked in the face with the ball versus England back in October – my eyes started to water and everyone thought I was crying!

11. Do you have you any superstitions?
Not really, no

12. What is your favourite pre-match or post-match music?
If I’m on the coach to a big game, then something like Daughtry

13. What is your favourite post match treat?
Chocolate

14. Who is your biggest fan?
My Dad who comes to watch a lot of my games

15. Who are your heroes?
No heroes as such, just a lot of good coaches I’ve had at various times growing up, I still remember advice they’ve given me

16. What is the most common thing you shout in a match?
Some typical Sunday League thing like ‘its nil nil’ when we score

17. What advice would you give to someone who has been called up into an international squad for a camp/game for the first time?
Don’t be daunted by the occasion, just relax and enjoy it.
