Wigan Athletic were the only side left with any chance at all of catching Bolton (pictured top), who required one point from their last two games to become champions.
In their penultimate game at fourth-placed Blackpool FC Ladies, Shell Saunders headed home from a Ruby Howard corner after only 10 minutes to ease any nerves.
Saunders struck again via a Hayley Langford free-kick and Katie Miller rounded off the scoring late on.
Wanderers therefore not only sealed a first ever league title but go into their final game unbeaten and have a place in FAWPL Northern Division 1 to look forward to next season.
Bolton are also chasing silverware in the North West League Plate Final, where they meet MSB Woolton at Bootle FC on 14th May (12:00 kick-off). That tie is followed at 4pm by the League Cup Final between Bury and FC United of Manchester.

The Division 1 North title was also decided at the weekend, as Penrith blew their chances by being held to a goalless draw at Kendal Town. That result presented the championship to Preston-based STF (Sir Tom Finney) Ladies.
There is still a little way to go in the battle for honours in Division 1 North, with Merseyrail Bootle currently leading but FC United and Warrington Wolverines also in the hunt.
