Leyton Orient Advanced Soccer School report that after an already successful season, they will be looking to add further trophies when they visit the ESF Butlin’s Bognor Regis Soccer Tournament.
Taking place at the famed resort on the South coast this coming bank holiday weekend, teams from all over the country will be travelling to participate in the tournament, one of the largest of its kind in the country.
The current Essex U-14 County Cup holders and Capital League Phase 1 Champions are gearing up for the challenge.
Head Coach Joe Sheehan said “After a terrific league campaign pipping Tottenham Hotspur, QPR, Charlton Athletic and Reading to the league title, we hosted the East Pennsylvania US Olympic Development squad in which we ran out comfortable 4-1 winners.”
This will be the U-14s’ 3rd Tour and they are yet to taste defeat having won the last 2 that took place in Great Yarmouth and Camber Sands respectively.
Our U-10s have just returned victorious from the Broomfield Youth Charity Football tournament with their first piece of silverware since forming the squad in July 2013.
Sheehan commented; “The girls have made vast improvements in nine months and have developed a very ruthless attacking style of play, their technical ability is incredibly good considering the inexperience they have.”
Sheehan suggested that the younger players also have a excellent chance of being victorious providing they can defeat an unbeaten Southampton FC team on what is seen as their home turf.
Another team from the LOASS FC camp is the U-13 squad who were league runners up and have a Presidents Cup final to look forward to when they return from Bognor Regis. The team, coached by ex Charlton Athletic Captain Athena Yennaris, has achieved great success and further congratulations should go out to Athena on her first season at the club.
The 230-strong group of players and families will be heading down to Bognor on Friday 2nd May.
