Birmingham and Cheshunt win Women’s Walking Football National Cups

The Walking Football Association’s inaugural Pharmacy2U Women’s National Cups saw success for Birmingham and Cheshunt.

Cheshunt beat X Saints in a penalty shoot-out to win the Over 50s National Cup at Watford, where Birmingham finished third.

The Over 40s competition was staged in Cheshunt but the hosts lost out 1-0 to Birmingham in the final.

Although Birmingham began with a defeat to South Church, they did not concede another goal, bouncing back to beat Chestnut 1-0, Great Wakering 2-0, Northampton 7-0 and Melksham 5-0.
