Laura Berry and Ria McCafferty won the April 2023/24 Scottish Women’s Premier League Player of the Month awards, supported by Park’s Motor Group.
Berry, on loan from Rangers, wins the award for the first time following her first nomination. It follows an unbeaten month for Motherwell where they won two out of three games.
The forward scored three goals as she played 90 minutes in all three matches. She was also a constant threat, providing eight shots on target from a total of 18 shots.
Motherwell’s unbeaten run is now eight games as they chase down Aberdeen in 7th. The two sides meet on Sunday, separated by just three points as both teams look to finish top of the bottom-six.
Ria McCafferty wins the award for Boroughmuir Thistle following two battling performances where they drew against Livingston and Gartcairn.
On loan from Spartans, the midfielder was voted as Player of the Match in both games for Thistle. She also scored in their 3-3 draw against Livingston while also having seven shots in both matches.
Boroughmuir Thistle have missed out on the promotion play-off this season but are guaranteed to finish in the top half of the table after moving clear of 5th place St Johnstone.
The nominees for the April 2024 SWPL award were Murphy Agnew (Celtic), Georgia Hunter (Hearts), and Bayley Hutchison (Aberdeen) and for the SWPL 2 award were Ellie Kane (Queen’s Park) and Mhairi Lyle (Glasgow Women).
