The former Australia U-19 schoolgirls player has signed up following a trial at the club after spending the past few weeks training with the Belles.
On signing, she said: “It’s really exciting. They are a quality group of girls here so it’s really exciting to join for the upcoming season.
“Everyone has been really welcoming and I get on well with everyone at the club already; It’s great fun to be a part of it.
After spells in Australia with Adelaide United and Melbourne Victory, Gummer is now looking to test herself in the FA WSL.
“I want to play at the highest level I can so when my chance comes I want to prove I can play at this level.”, she added.
Manager Glen Harris spoke highly of the player after securing her services, saying: “Alex has been training with us for most of pre-season and we’ve been looking for options down the left side.
“She has shown great attitude and commitment and has just been a pleasure to work with.
“I think she deserves her opportunity to be part of this squad and now we can see how we can develop her as a player over the coming season.”
