Behringer, Lloyd And Marta On FIFA Shortlist

Behringer’s goals helped Germany to Rio 2016 glory, where fifa.com says the USA’s Lloyd also stood out as one of the top performers.

Marta – who captained the host nation at the Olympics – shone in a Seleção side that attacked with verve and vigour and her impassioned, tearful plea into a television camera after her side’s semi-final defeat to Sweden captivated the nation.

Meanwhile, the Best FIFA Women’s Coach will now be selected from Jill Ellis (USA), Silvia Neid (Germany) and Pia Sundhage (Sweden). English-born Canada coach John Herdman was one of seven to miss the cut.

The final three nominees for the FIFA Puskás Award for the best goal of the year includes one female; Venezuela’s Daniuska Rodríguez for her effort against Colombia in the South American U-17 Championship. See all the goals and make your vote here.

The award winners will be declared at the ceremony in Zurich on Monday 9 January.
