Molly Smith is reporting from Bedlington Town Bulldogs’ trip to the Disneyland Paris Tournament, where the very successful girls team will be flying the flag for the North East of England.
Last season the team won the Northumberland Girls Premier League, the League Cup and six tournaments across the country.
This season they have missed an age group and are now challenging in the Premier League playing older girls, so far they’re joint -first, being undefeated and also through to the League cup final – a great achievement, being the age they are.
The 28th of March saw their last domestic game before travelling to Paris and it was the semi-final against Newcastle East End. The Bulldogs had a convincing 11-1 win and are set to face our own club side, Bedlington Town Rockets, who are the year above.
On April 8th we have an early start to set off for the football tournament at Disneyland Paris! Everyone is so excited to go and can’t wait for it to be here.
We have raised a lot of money to get there and would like to thank all our sponsors and everyone involved with the team including family and freinds who helped us. Special thanks to High5it app who supplied new strips, £500 and 10 balls, new polo shirts and training jumpers were provided by SM Building Services NE Ltd. While David Henderson Tractors and Straughans & sons clubbed together to provided tracksuits for players.
Everyone is looking forward to our Paris tournament and can’t wait to get there, I’ll be updating daily from Paris and hope you follow our adventure.
