Bassett Meets England Fans In Nottingham

More than 250 fans queued to meet the Notts County captain, getting autographs and taking selfies.

Bassett and her England team mates will play their next home game, against Estonia, at Meadow Lane on Thursday 15th September.

England have already qualified for next summer’s UEFA Women’s EUROS, which will take place in the Netherlands, but will be hoping for all three points to help top their qualifying group.

Bassett said: “I really enjoyed my morning here, meeting so many supporters and speaking to fans who are going to come to our game against Estonia.

“Events like this are really important to us as footballers as you get a sense of how much the women’s game is growing and how the support for England team is increasing. We want to pay that back by getting all three points against Estonia and putting in a good performance in front of our fans.

“It’s always a great feeling to represent your country, but to have an England game at Meadow Lane is really special for the Notts County players. We have great supporters and we know they’ll turn out for this England game too.”
