Barnsley Pull Off Sheffield Cup Shock

Barnsley may have quite a tall order to catch their league leaders Brighouse Town, but the team which will be know as Barnsley FC Ladies from next season, bagged their first ever Sheffield & Hallam Cup last night at Parkgate FC.

Sixteen year-old Brittany Sanderson featured with a hat-trick, Holly Findlay getting the other goal for the Tykes, whose keeper Laura Wilson played a big part, along with their Player of the Match, Lucy Turner.

Barnsley took a 2-0 lead and although Emily Heckler pulled a goal back just before the break, the second half produced a repeat scoreline for a 4-2 result.
