Aston Villa booked their quarter-final spot in the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup with victory at Sheffield United.
GROUP A
Manchester United 4-2 Everton
Sheffield United 1-2 Aston Villa
Villa struck twice in a three-minute spell midway through the first half, as Kenza Dali set up Kirsty Hanson and netted the second herself. Mia Enderby got one back for the Blades with an 80th-minute penalty.
Manchester United did Villa a favour in defeating Everton, whom they led 4-0 inside the half-hour mark. Vilde Boe Risa scored twice, Rachel Williams and Jade Moore adding one each before second-half replies from Jess Park and Karen Holmgaard. Neither Manchester United nor Everton can now go through as best runners-up.
