Arsenal have announced that Scottish international Lisa Evans has signed a new long-term contract extension with the club.

Despite often playing in a defensive position, she has claimed five goals and six assists this season – and only three players have played more minutes than her this term for the Gunners.

Head coach Joe Montemurro told www.arsenal.com : “We’re delighted that Lisa has extended her contract with us. Her energy and precision are very important qualities, making her a key part of our team.”

Evans added: “I think the club’s definitely going in the right direction in terms of where we want to be. We obviously want to be back in the Champions League and I feel like this club, this group of players, the staff, we can go to so many more different levels. That was the biggest thing for why I wanted to stay at this amazing club.”
